Poznan Educational Society

(Poznanskie Towarzystwo Oswiatowe PSO)
consists of:
Kindergarten “Z Mchu i Paproci”

Elementary School “Debinka”
Lower Secondary School “Debinka”

It started in Spring 1990. A group of enthusiastic parents, who realised there might exist more advanced possibility for their children education, founded a society which would introduce a new type of school. This is how Poznan Educational Society (PSO) came to life.

Parents of the prospective students redecorated an old building  and opened in September 1990 a primary  school which was later called „Dębinka”. Within the next few years  it acquired all the facilities necessary to run a school.
By 2000 „Dębinka” Gymnasium (Lower Secondary School)  started its program. In  2004 a new building was constructed to accommodate it .  In September of the same year Kindergarten „Z mchu i paproci” („Out of the moss and fern”) was founded..

Primary  School is divided into two sections: pre-school and  elementary ( grade 0-3 ) and primary ( grade 4-6) respectively. Both Primary and Lower Secondary Schools have two classes at each level. There are maximum of eighteen pupils  per class. Children start learning English from the beginning of their formal education. As from grade 5, they start another foreign language, which is German or Spanish. Foreign languages are taught in small groups.

The main aim of Poznan Educational Society, who runs the school, is the enrichment of children’s learning possibilities by stimulating and supporting their social and educational initiatives.

The most important factor is to give  pupils broad education and  to add versatility to the development of a young person.
